Tokyo stocks closed lower Tuesday, dragged down by declines in the lead September contract of Nikkei index futures, which in turn mirrored falls in U.S. stock index futures. The Nikkei Stock Average inched down amid a lack of trading cues in the afternoon, before ending the day at 8,655.87, down 65.15 points, or 0.75%,according to (Nikkei) website. Investors also stayed on the sidelines, awaiting word from leaders of the Group of 20 major economies on how they will address problems with Spain's banking system. (QNA)
