Tokyo stocks rise slightly on regional gains

Tokyo stocks (Nikkei) traded slightly higher as the afternoon session opened on Wednesday, despite a lack of incentives, with the Nikkei Stock Average rising 36 points to change hands at 9,387. Market gains in Shanghai and South Korea appear to be supporting Tokyo sentiment. However, investors are gradually moving to the sidelines, as the Tokyo market will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Golden Week national holiday, Nikkei.com reported.
