The exchange rate of the US dollar against the Kuwaiti currency was unchanged at KD 0.284, Thursday, as indicated by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) daily bulletin. The euro dropped to KD 0.371, while the pound sterling kept to KD 0.436, and the Japanese yen remained unchanged at 0.003. The rate of the Swiss franc was also unchanged at KD 0.305, CBK said. The US Federal Reserve announced that the bond-buying program which was initiated to bring about a recovery of the American economy will continue till the end of the year, and until it achieves its targets, and cuts down unemployment rates. The main interest rates will also remain unchanged at historical low levels between zero and 0.25 percent. International exchanges were showing the impact of the speech of US President Barak Obama on Wednesday, in which he proposed a set of measures to cut budget deficit by USD 3.77 billion.
