
US stocks closed higher Thursday as soaring Facebook shares were up 30 percent, boosting sentiment. At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 13.21 (0.08 percent) at 15,555,45. The broad-market Standard & Poor's 500 rose 4.37 (0.26 percent) to 1,690.31, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite added 25.59 (0.71 percent) at 3,605.19. Facebook was in focus after the leading social network's earnings report, released after the market closed Wednesday, showed robust growth in ad revenue from mobile technology. Facebook shares skyrocketed 30 percent to $34.35 on the Nasdaq.
