US stocks opened mixed on Wednesday on hopes for a European Central Bank package. Without any significant economic data in the United States, the European situation is now the top concern of investors. ECB President Mario Draghi is supposed to release specific details about the new round of bond-purchasing plans. Investors, however, have begun to concern that Draghi might not offer a real resolution. Shortly after the opening bell, the Dow Jones industrial average lost 54.90 points, or 0.42 percent, to 13,035.94. The Standard & Poor's 500 was up 0.44 point, or 0.03 percent, to 1,405.26. The Nasdaq Composite Index declined 3.32 points, or 0.11 percent, to 3,071.81.
