Won falls on Fed tapering but stocks inch up

The South Korean currency fell the most against the U.S. dollar in about five months on Thursday on the Federal Reserve's decision to taper its bond purchases. The local stock market managed to rise. The local currency reached 1,060.10 won against the dollar, down 8.8 won from the previous session and marking the lowest level since Dec. 4.
