US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will travel to India this month for annual economic discussions aimed at expanding bilateral trade and economic ties, the Treasury said Tuesday. Geithner will meet with Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in Delhi on June 27 for the third ministerial meeting of the US-India Economic and Financial Partnership. Geithner "will also discuss issues related to illicit finance, including the implementation of international sanctions," the Treasury said in a statement. Geithner and Mukherjee have led the cabinet-level meetings, which are alternately held in the United States and India. The bilateral discussion over the past three years have focused on macroeconomic policy, the financial sector, and infrastructure financing in a bid to build cooperation between two of the world's largest economies.
