
The MSM30 Index opened the week on a positive note to close at 4,913.19 points, a gain of 0.49 per cent. MSM Sharia Index ended at 729.30 points, up 0.34 per cent. Phoenix Power was the most active in terms of volume while Al Ahlia Insurance led in terms of turnover. Up 4.76 per cent, National Gas was the top gainer, while Al Batinah Power was the top loser, down 3.57 per cent.
A total number of 614 trades were executed on Sunday, generating a turnover of OMR7.34 million with 32.3 million shares changing hands. Out of 31 traded securities, 10 advanced, 5 declined and 16 remained unchanged. Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR486,000 followed by GCC and Arab Investors for OMR31,000 while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR517,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index advanced 0.28 per cent to end at 7,314.09 points. DIDIC, Al Sharqia Investments, Gulf Investment Services, Al Madina Investments and Al Anwar Holding increased 4.52 per cent, 3.03 per cent, 2.74 per cent, 1.56 per cent and 0.71 per cent respectively. Al Ahlia Insurance, down 1.89 per cent was the only loser.
Industrial Index closed at 6,635.03 points, up 0.14 per cent. Oman Fisheries increased 1.96 per cent while Gulf International Chemicals lost 0.50 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.32 per cent to finish at 2,426.30 points. National Gas, Omantel and Ooredoo gained 4.76 per cent, 2.78 per cent and 0.94 per cent respectively. Al Batinah Power and Al Jazeera Services slid 3.57 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively.
