As Frankfurt’s motor show edges closer to the September 13 opening date, more and more new cars are excitedly shedding their veils. Bentley has now revealed official images and specifications of its second generation Continental GTC convertible, featuring the same assertive stance of the tin-top model, three styles of 21in optional wheels, and all the sumptuousness and luxury expected of Crewe. The hand-crafted cabin is bejewelled with shiny chrome, soft-touch leather, an extensive range of wood veneers, and shag carpets. As for that new fabric roof, it includes a proper glass window and under-body panels for better noise isolation. And remember that this second generation Conti benefits from a wider track both front and rear, sharper steering and a retuned suspension, as well as a new 40:60 rear torque bias compared with the original’s 50:50 split. The engine is a familiar but more powerful 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged W12 unit producing 570bhp through a new six-speed transmission. So, the convertible gets you 0-100kph in 4.8 seconds and a 314kph top speed. Interested? First you need to find Dh782K.
