We have to hand it to Cadillac. When all other carmakers are going for that round and softer look, it has stuck to its guns and retained the hard lines and angular look in its current line-up. The CTS-V Coupé is a perfect example. Run your hands along the fender and you’ll cut them open. It’s razor sharp. And it’s using the same design language on its new concept, the Ciel. Let’s get one thing out in the open. The Ciel is simply gorgeous. It looks like it was beamed down from outer space. Boasting a striking exterior with LED headlights and an exaggerated take on the modern Caddy grille, it’s a bold and futuristic looking convertible. The door handles are flush to the body while it wears 22in alloys. It oozes character and style from every angle. With chrome exhaust tips and LED taillights at the back, not to mention the chrome trim which runs the length of the concept car, the Caddy scores top marks in the looks department. And if its powertrain makes it to production, it’ll impress performance-wise too. Under the sleek bonnet lies a 3.6-litre direct injection V6 with a hybrid system using a lithium-ion battery making a combined total of 425bhp and 583Nm of torque. The four-seater is luxurious on the inside too featuring leather and wood trim (used from just one Italian Olive tree…) that would not look out of place on a Rolls or Bentley. But, we love the pull-out cashmere blankets for the passengers in case it gets too cold with the top down. Cadillac cares about its customers, see.
