The price for crude oil topped $105 per barrel Tuesday with stocks mixed in Asia and mostly lower in Europe. The dollar index remained flat Tuesday morning, rising 0.04 percent to 78.79 on the International Exchange following Monday's rise of 0.08 percent. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, West Texas Intermediate crude oil for June delivery added 25 cents to $105.12 per barrel. Natural gas gave up 5.4 cents to $2.339 per million British thermal units. Home heating oil was off 1.41 cent to $3.1701 per gallon. Gasoline hit $3.092 a gallon, down 3.26 cents. At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline dropped to $3.809 per gallon from Monday's $3.816, AAA said.
