
Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour met Iraqi Minister of Transport Hadi Al Ameri on Saturday, who is in Jordan to attend the meetings of the General Assembly of the Jordanian-Iraqi Land Transport Company.During the meeting, the Iraqi minister officially informed the prime minister about the Iraqi cabinet’s decision to approve building an oil pipeline between Iraq and Jordan, Jordan News Agency ‘Petra’ said.The two officials agreed to follow up on agreements signed during the meetings of the Joint Jordanian-Iraqi Higher Committee, which convened in Baghdad recently. They also stressed the need to set up a rail network between the two countries. Jordan, the prime minister said, was keen to bolster ties with Iraq in various domains, serving the two countries’ interests. He also affirmed that Jordan does not interfere in the internal affairs of Iraq.Ensour spoke about the importance of the transportation sector and its key role in increasing the volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Iraq.
