
Yemen LNG General Manager, Jacques Azibert, and the Governor of Shabwa, Ahmed BaHajj, signed on Tuesday in Sana’a four development agreements at a total cost of YR 568 million. The first agreement was also signed by Mr. Naser Bajanoub, General Manager of the Society of Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS). The agreement provides a three-year support and primary services to refugees who land in Al-Ayn Bay, close to Balhaf, Shabwa Governorate, before their transfer to permanent refugee camps. The signing was witnessed by Mr. Anteneh Teafaye of the UNHCR. The second agreement was signed with Mr. Saeed Abdo, Executive Director of the Public Works Project, to construct in 2014 six new schools in target areas in Shabwah, benefiting by which 1,600 students. The third agreement was signed with the Shabwah Agricultural Joint Cooperative to rehabilitate irrigation channels in the Wadi Jardan district. The fourth agreement was signed with Mr. Humaid Al-Kurbi, Director of the Shabwa Fisheries Authority, to rehabilitate the Ayn Bama’bad Fish Auction. On this occasion, Governor of Shabwah Mr. Bahaj expressed appreciation at the growing relationship between Yemen LNG and the governorate of Shabwah. “We have witnessed over the years valuable contributions by Yemen LNG and tangible results which contribute to achieving the development objectives of the target areas around company operations”. In his turn, Yemen LNG General Manager Mr. Jacques Azibert commented that “today’s agreements focus primarily on areas of education, agriculture, fisheries, and humanitarian support”. “These programs,” Mr. Azibert added, “are an interpretation of our commitment to continue to work with partners to implement programs which will directly impact the lives of the communities around company operations”.
