
The 11th edition of the International Holy Quran Award kicked off Thursday evening at Dar el-Imam (Algiers) with the participation of 51 countries.
Held under the patronage of President of the Republic, this event’s kick off was marked by the presence of Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs Mohamed Aissa, Personal Representative of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Belkhadem, the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algiers, imams and scholars.
Speaking at this edition’s kick off, Religious Affairs and Wakfs Minister said that this event has become a tradition where competition is opened to the best reciters of the Holy Quran from the entire world.
Aissa emphasized Algeria’s people’s attachment to the recitation and interpretation to Quran through the various Quranic schools founded by distinguished scholars.
