The Lebanese Minister of Culture, Gaby Layoun, and the Italian ambassador in Beirut, Giuseppe Morabito, presented a project for the restoration of the Castle of Chamaa in southern Lebanon, damaged during the the 2006 war with Israel. The work will be financed by the Cooperation office by the Italian Embassy, at a cost of 700,000Euro. The project was presented by the architect Natali Chahine. "We are honored - said the ambassador Morabito -for this opportunity to support the restoration and enhancement of Chamaa city because it is a testimony of the rich cultural heritage of Lebanon that reflects, with the place of religious pilgrimage of Nebi Chamaa, the spiritual and religious values of the country. Furthermore, this project confirms the Italian government's commitment to the reconstruction of the south Lebanon ".
