
About forty countries, including the United States of America as guest of honour, are expected at the 19th International Book Fair of Algiers, SILA, which will take place from October 30 to November 8, said Sunday the event’s organizers.
Organized at the Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports (SAFEX), the 19th SILA will be be marked by the particpation of 43 countries, totalling 926 exhibitors, including 267 Algerian publishers, said to the event’s organizers in a meeting with the press.
Coinciding with the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the national Liberation War, this 19th edition will celebrate this anniversary with a meeting scheduled on 1 November which will bring together Algerian and foreign historians.
Tribute will also be paid to historic figures on this occasion, particularly Algerian thinker and politician Mostefa Lacheraf (1917-2000) whose works will be the subject of two study days.
