
The works of Algerian artists sparked keen interest during the preview of the international exhibition of African artists on Saturday, a great moment in the Biennale of Contemporary African Art, Dak'Art 2014, being held in the Senegalese capital, Dakar. The exhibition, inaugurated by the Senegalese Minister of Culture, displays the works of 61 artists, carried out especially for the African art event. Eight Algerian, world famous visual artists are taking part in the event, namely Kader Attia, Driss Ouadhahi, the winner, Friday, of the grand prize Leopold Sedar Senghor, awarded by the Biennale of Contemporary African Art in Dakar Dak'Art 2014, "tying with Nigerian artist Olu Amoda. Faissal Baghriche, Massinissa Selmani and Kamel Yahiaoui are also taking part in the exhibition to run until June 8. Amina Menia represents Algeria's female visual art.
