Al-Azhar: Targeting heritage by Daesh crime against world

Al Azhar asserted Friday that destroying Iraqi and Syrian cultural heritage by the terrorist Daesh group is a great crime against the whole world.
The highest Sunni authority in the world said that such malicious acts are totally rejected and forbidden by Islam.
It called on the Arab countries to unify against Daesh group and against any other extremist organization.
Earlier, Daesh militants ransacked Mosul’s central museum and bulldozed the ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud.
