
Algerian experience in the worship management can bring a lot to Senegal, said Thursday in Algiers Senegal’s Foreign Minister and Senegalese Abroad Mankeur Ndiaye, especially as the two countries share the Tariqa Tidjaniya (spiritual path of Islam).
“Algeria’s experience in the management of worship can bring a lot to our country knowing that we have in common, in addition to the Muslim religion, the Tariqa Tidjaniya, of which Algeria is the cradle,” said Ndiaye, at the end of his audience with Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs.
“The Senegalese minister, who expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the discussions and the exchanges underlined that the meeting allowed to “assess cooperation in this field,” knowing that his country does not have a ministry of religious affairs and that it is “the ministry of interior that is in charge of worship,” he added.
The talks focused on, according to the head of the Senegalese diplomacy, ways to “develop religious teachings in his country by being inspired by what Algeria does.”
