
Chairperson of the Cairo-based Alliance for Arab Women (AAW) Hoda Badran urged backing Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's call for renewing religious discourse to rectify erroneous concepts about Islam.
In statements to MENA, she underlined the importance of refuting ideas claiming that Islam disdained women and showing examples of how Islam honored women.
She also balked at those who give erroneous religious edicts and harm the image of Islam.
The AAW is a non-governmental organization, Flagrant in Ministry of Social Affairs in 1987 under the number 154, was adjust their positions according to the law No. 184 of 2000, it target cultural and social side, as it work as an umbrella to a network of NGOs and cooperates with other Egyptian and Arab organizations to provide women with basic human security through influencing policies and legislations, and through providing services and programs within the framework of human rights.
The association configures network of 350 NGOs spread throughout the republic.
