
Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARCWH) today held a meeting presided over by Chairperson Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, and highlighted the ARCWH role in preserving world heritage in Arab region.
The meeting was attended by ARCWH Director Dr. Munir Bouchenaki, and Board members, including Foreign Ministry's representative, Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa, ICCROM-Athar-Sharjah Centre's Director, Dr. Zaki Aslan, Tim Badman of IUCN, Mustafa Khanousi of ICOMOS, Nada Al-Hassan of UNSCO and Faisal Al-Nuaimi of Qatar.
ARCWH Director hailed the efforts of Shaikha Mai Al Khalifa in supporting ARCWH efforts in preserving cultural and natural heritage in Arab countries under 1972 World Heritage Convention.
The meeting discussed the ARCWH future programmes aimed at providing counsels and technical assistance to Arab countries to preserve their cultural and natural heritage.
