Egypt's Ambassador here Wael Nasrallah Attia said that late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat was and will remain a symbol of peace for the Palestinian and Israeli peoples alike.
In a statement on the sidelines of a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of Arafat, Attia said his participation in this event comes to commemorate a national figure of resistance around whom the Palestinian people united.
He called on the Palestinians to close their ranks to realize their legitimate rights.
Earlier in the day, Attia placed a wreath on the tomb of Arafat in Ramallah.
