
The Ministry of Awqaf (endowments) and Islamic Affairs hasopened three new mosques that accommodate up to ( 1521 ) worshippers in AziziaKhor and Mreikh areas as part of its plan to double the number of mosques in allregions of the state according to specific criteria and architectural heritage andenvironment in the light of the Qatar National Vision 2030 .The capacity of the first mosque in Al-Azizia reaches to 1145 worshipers dividedbetween ( 850 in the main hall , 185 in the daily hall and 110 women hall ) .While the second mosque in al khor area accommodates ( 157 ) worshippers and 49female worshippers, and a supplement housing the residence of the Imam andanother one for praying announcer (muezzin), whereas the third mosqueaccommodates ( 170 ) worshippers and 40 female worshippers along with thehouseof the Imam and the muezzin .The mosques department at the ministry confirmed that these mosques have beenprovided with all facilities to render safe and complete services to the worshippers which come to keep up with population growth in the state.
