Azhar launches world contest on Islamic thought

Al Azhar senior scholars office announced Tuesday the launch of a new world prize for an international contest on Islamic thought.
The intellectual contest would be held under the patronage of Grand Sheik of Al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb.
As part of efforts to encounter mistaken perceptions about Islam, a series of books are planned to be published during the upcoming month of Shaban, the 8th month of the Islamic Hijri calendar.
The seminar is expected to be held next week.
