Azhar official calls on clerics to avoid politics

Al Azhar Secretary Dr Abbas Shuman called on religious scholars to refrain from any political activities and not politics as they do not have the required qualifications.
Addressing a cultural seminar at Al Azhar on Tuesday, Shuman said when clerics are involved in politics, which they do not master,they make mistakes.
Religion should never be used to serve politics, he said.
