The Ministry of Culture hosts an open dialogue on translation under the title (Metaphors of Translation) with lectures scheduled to be presented by Dr. Hashim Saleh and Dr. Jean Jibour anchored by Ayman Jaffar as part of the activities of the month of translations on the sidelines of Manama as the Capital of Arab Culture 2012. The open dialogue discusses the status quo of translation and challenges in the Arab world. The interactive dialogue takes a philosophical approach in various aspects in order to clarify the forms of translation, the correlation between text and translator in terms of of analytical discourse, the experience of translators with novels, the role of translation in Arab thought, and highlights of reality, and critique of translations. Translations seek to open futuristic scopes with Arabian organizations and call for a pan-Arab project, the easing out of obstacles which encounter most schools of translation in Arab countries. Both lecturers address the question tags raised by translators after frequent submission of their recommendations during conferences which are either taken into consideration but deferred indefinitely or never taken into consideration. The public will have a rendezvous with a detailed deliberation over the circumstances of translation next Thursday (30 August 2012) at 7:00 pm at the Bahrain National Museum.
