DSF's Dubai Celebration Chain enters Guinness World Record

Residents and visitors to the 20th anniversary Dubai Shopping Festival, DSF, activities have been given the opportunity to own a piece of history by buying a segment of the ‘Dubai Celebration Chain' – the world's longest handmade gold chain, which made its entry into the Guinness World Records at 5.522 km in length, weighing approximately 256 kilos.
The 22 carat gold chain can be purchased in options of 8 grams (bracelet size), 20 grams, 22 grams, 24 grams and 25 grams. Pieces of the chain can be bought at the current 22 carat jewellery price plus Dh 15 per gram as fabrication charges.
So far, a major portion of the chain is already pre-booked and sold out. The chain has more than 4 million links and was manually linked by 100 craftsmen over 45 days.
