The Egyptian delegation in UNESCO will hold an international seminar here on Wednesday on the Egyptian museums, said Egypt's permanent envoy to UNESCO Mohamed Sameh Amr on Tuesday.
The seminar, which would be attended by Egyptian Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh el-Damaty, is meant to mobilize the necessary international support for establishing and restoring a number of projects related to the Egyptian museums, Amr said in statements.
He underscored that the seminar would also accentuate the Egyptian civilization and promote the Egyptian tourism sector.
UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova is expected to deliver a speech in the seminar on cooperation between the Egyptian government and UNESCO in the field of maintenance and preservation of Egypt's heritage, the Egyptian envoy added.
Damaty and former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros Ghali will also deliver speeches in the seminar.
