The Antiquities Ministry will receive Tuesday 15 artifacts from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, after being retrieved from London.
The Department of Recovered Antiquities, which is affiliated with the ministry, managed to spot stolen artifacts that have been put up for sale in two auction houses in London.
In statements Monday, Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el-Damati said that the step came as part of the ministry's tireless efforts to follow up auction houses and their websites to retrieve any looted or smuggled artifacts.
The retrieved artifacts will be transferred to the restoration lab at the Egyptian Museum in order to be fully examined, he added.
