Egyptian Cultural Councilor in Tripoli Al-Helali el-Sherbini has been honored during the Palestinian Battle of Karameh ceremony. Al-Helali, who is also the head of the Egyptian Culture Center in Tripoli, was honored during the ceremony on Monday by Palestinian Ambassador Al-Motwakel Taha. It came in appreciation of the efforts made by the center to preserve the Arab culture. The ceremony marks the 45th anniversary of the Karameh battle, which was fought on March 21, 1968, by combined Jordanian soldiers and the Palestine Liberation Organization against Israeli occupation forces in the Jordanian town of Karameh. Israeli forces were repelled with heavy losses then.
