An Egyptian delegation, under Ambassador in Togo Karim Sherif, took part in inaugurating a new mosque in a coastal state, 20 km off the Togolese capital of Lome.
The Egyptian participation came in the framework of public diplomacy efforts carried out by the Egyptian Embassy in Togo to promote the Egyptian presence in the country and consolidate the role of Al Azhar as a beacon of moderate Islam, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
