
Minister of Awqaf Mokhtar Gomaa said choosing him as the best religious figure for 2014 and naming Counselor Adly Mansour and Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab as the best political figure of the year asserted that people stood behind the state and could stand in the face of terrorism and chaos.
In statements to MENA on Tuesday, Gomaa termed this choice as a victory for the moderate state and the Egyptian society.
He said the Egyptian society uphold the moderate values of Islam which are being taught via Azhar.
A poll, conducted by Al-Youm Al-Sabei newspaper, revealed that Awqaf minister has been chosen as the best religious figure of the year.
