Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam left here on Sunday on a European tour that will take him to Netherlands and France to clarify the true image about Islam and extend bridges of cooperation.
The Mufti's tour comes as part of the strenuous efforts exerted by Iftaa House to spread awareness about Islam and clarify misunderstanding among Muslim communities worldwide.
In the Netherlands, Allam will meet the Dutch foreign and interior ministers besides members of the Dutch parliament foreign affairs committee.
Allam will also visit the Islamic studies department at Liden University where he will meet professors and postgraduate students.
The mayor of Rotterdam, the second largest Dutch city, will receive Allam at the city headquarters. Their meeting will be followed by a press conference.
In France, the mufti will meet a number of officials and thinkers to discuss extremism particularly in the Middle East region.
