Brand Dubai, a subsidiary of the Government of Dubai Media Office, announced that the number of entries for Dubai Canvas Competition has exceeded 5400 photos. The competition was launched earlier on Instagram via the hashtag #DubaiCanvas according to the terms and conditions defined by Dubai Canvas Organizing Committee.
The Committee is currently short-listing the best 100 entry to post them for public vote. The winning photo will be awarded AED 20,000, the 2nd runner up wins AED 15,000 and the 3rd runner up wins AED 10,000. The results will soon be announced via social media.
Shaima Al Suwaidi, Member of the competition Jury, said: "The Jury received over 5,400 entries, most of them are creative which indicates that the public has received our message clearly".
Al Suwaidi added: "when short listing the best 100 photo, we will take in consideration all the terms and conditions announced earlier. Photos must be taken by a mobile phone, with no alterations, digital treatment or effects. Jury will automatically eliminate any photo that doesn’t respond to the terms and conditions".
Reflecting Brand Dubai’s enthusiasm to engage the public, the jury’s role is limited to selecting the best 100 entries while the three winning photos will be determined by the number of likes each received on Brand Dubai Instagram account @branddubai.
Dubai Canvas Competition was launched alongside the 1st edition of Dubai Canvas Festival held at the Beach, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) from 1st to 7th of March 2015.
