Prime Minister of Finland Jyrki Katainen has commended the cultural and civilisational role the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque plays in promoting the cherished legacy of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Mr. Katainen said during his visit to the majestic mosque that the iconic structure has become a favourite destination to millions of tourists of different nationalities as well as a centre for promoting Islamic architecture and arts. It, he added, reflects the bright civilized image of the UAE to other people of the world. He said that he admired the bright cloudy white colour of the mosque. Visiting such magnificent landmarks, he noted, brings comfort, relief and calm to soul. He also toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center (SZGMC) and its library. (SZGMC), part of the Ministry for Presidential Affairs, was established to emphasise on the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s noble deeds and contributions to humanity, in a way that commemorates his legacy and memory and to enhance cross cultural communication and introduce the Center as a cultural tourism destination.
