
The first evening of the fourth Holy Koran Recitation Contest "Tadj el-Qoraan" has been held Friday in Exhibition Palace in Algiers.
Broadcast live by the "Al-Koran" channel of the Algerian Television, the first evening, supervised by a jury composed of experts in the reading and recitation of the Holy Koran, has been marked by the qualification to the finals of reciters Rachid Djebbar from Naama and Oumeima Belloucif from Sétif.
In addition to these two candidates, the first religious evening saw the participation of Fares Belgharbi from Sidi Belabbes, Abdelkader Lamouri from M'sila, Hadj and Mustapha Rebiai from Mascara, Rachid Djebbar from Djelfa, Nesrine Slimane from Bordj Bou Arréridj.
Dozens of candidates of both genders from different regions of the country had participated in the qualifying competition, and the qualified candidates to the final will compete during the four weeks of the month of Ramadan to run for the first three places.
The first evening "Taj el-Qoraan" was hoisted by religious songs, performed by the "Al-Aqsa" group of Algiers.
