HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari inaugurated this evening the French Cultural Centre new library in the presence of Ambassador of France in Doha Jean-Christophe Possel and a number of Ambassadors accredited to the state. The Ambassador of France thanked HE the Minister of Culture for attending the event . Possel stressed the role the library can play as a bridge between cultures in Qatar. He added that the aim of establishing the new library is to encourage learning the French language and to advance francophone values. He expressed his happiness that the State of Qatar joined Organization internationale de la Francophone. The new library contains 12,000 references and currently has some 238 subscribers. The French Cultural Center is working currently on launching a website for the library, where surfers can view the library’s content online.
