Ghana Muslims call for Azhar institutional presence

Ghana Muslims have called for an institutional presence of Al Azhar in their country to show the moderate Islam and help in confronting terrorism.
During a meeting with Egypt's Ambassador in Accra Mohamed Haidar, representatives of the community urged to establish an Azhar center to teach Arabic and Islamic sciences to the Ghanaian people, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
For his part, the ambassador said a Memorandum of Understanding would be soon signed to promote cultural cooperation with Ghana.
