Six young Palestinian writers with Israeli nationality have written about themes related to living in the State of Israel in an anthology called "Here Ends the Earth". Unemployment and marginality, Arab women living in Israel, sex, religion, terrorism, detention in Israeli jails, pacifism and the construction of the wall are some of the many issues confronted by Ala Hlehel, Muhammad Ali Taha, Hisham Naffa', Suheir Abu Oksa Daoud, Raja' Bakriyyah, Bashir Shalash in the volume, published by Italian Il Sirente. The writers, who have never left their homeland but automatically became 'Israeli' at birth when the State of Israel took control of Palestinian territories, keep the memory of Palestine alive through personal and collective stories. The anthology will be presented at Milan's Feltrinelli bookstore on 3 October at 18.00 as part of 'Philastiniat': a three day event (3-6 October) on Palestinian culture and art, including literature, photography, cinema, poetry, and music in various locations throughout Milan.
