A Palestinian human rights organization warned of the continued Israeli attacks against Islamic holy sites in occupied Palestinian territories, calling on the international community and the United Nations to put an end to the Israeli violations. Himaya Center for Human Rights considered the Israeli settlers' escalated incursions into al-Aqsa mosque as a provocation to Muslims' religious feeling and a violation of international and humanitarian laws topped by Geneva Convention, PIC reported Friday. The center condemned the settlers' repeated attacks against holy sites under Israeli forces protection, pointing out to the Israeli systematic schemes to control the Islamic sites. The organization called on contracting parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to act immediately to put an end to the Israeli serious violations against places of worship. The center also called on UNESCO and UN Human Rights Council to prosecute the occupation leaders before international courts. Himaya center called upon all Arab countries and regional and international organizations to put pressures on Israeli authorities to stop these repeated violations and to send international commissions to document Israeli violations in holy places in Jerusalem. It also called on Palestinian Authority to join the International Criminal Court (ICC) in order to prosecute Israeli leaders for their crimes against Palestinian people and properties.
