Khalida Toumi at official opening of Sharjah capital of islamic culture 2014

Minister of Culture Khalida Toumi started Wednesday a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates to attend the opening ceremony of the event “Sharjah Capital of Islamic Culture 2014” scheduled for Thursday, said a ministerial communiqué.During this visit, Toumi will be accompanied by the officials of her department, said the source.The city of Sharjah was designated as “capital of the Islamic culture 2014” during the 4th Islamic Conference of the Arab Ministers of Culture, held in Algiers in December 2004.In 2011, the event “Tlemcen, capital of Islamic Culture” hosted, during one year, several cultural activities on the Islamic history and arts.The twenty nine member countries of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) took part in this event, organized in Tlemcen, in addition to other countries namely China, India, Portugal and the United States of America.
