The Kuwait Arts Association awarded winners of the Suad Al-Sabah Creativity Prize at an art forum on Tuesday, attended by 76 artists from Kuwait and the Gulf region. The winners of the award were Hassan Saleh from Bahrain and Ahmad Al-Hawwaj, Saad Al-Baloushi, Bader Hayati and Khaled Al-Shatti from Kuwait. As for the Suad Al-Sabah forum, the association's director Abdulrasool Salman said in a speech that it attracted 152 works of various directions which were completed in three days during a group workshop. The event is aimed at a new approach to art "in a more creative and elaborate way through the distinguished use of colour, gaining its personal value from modern visual and expressionist forms of intellectual and cultural thought," he said. He expressed gratitude for the decision to hold and sponsor the event, held for the first time since the association's inception in 1967, which he said has had a profound impact on aiding creativity amongst artists. He also thanked State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah for his attendance of the event.
