
Kuwait on Tuesday headed the standing committee on social and cultural affairs during 2nd day of 7th Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) session adopting 10 resolutions.
Member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly (Parliament), Faisal Mohammad Al-Kandari, who is leading the Kuwaiti delegation at the APA session in Pakistan, chaired the organizing committee session on social and cultural affairs.
During the session, the standing committee adopted 10 resolutions including a resolution on measures to promote cultural diversity and protect cultural heritage in Asia, a resolution on coping with globalization in Asia and a draft resolution on collaboration on health equity in Asia.
The resolutions on information and communication technology, protection and promotion of the rights of migrant workers in Asia, Asian parliamentarians against corruption, coordinating committee of APA women parliamentarians, promoting inter-faith dialogue and harmony among world religions, legal and legislative cooperation in combating the smuggling of cultural items in Asia and effective cooperation in combating illicit drug trafficking in Asia were also adopted during session of the committee.
