
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met on Wednesday with his Singaporean counterpart on the fringe of his participation in the Afro-Asian Summit 2015 in Jakarta on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The Singaporean premier asserted the depth of relations binding the two countries, noting that his country is seeking to bolster its economic relations with Egypt and take part in Suez Canal development projects.
He said Singapore is ready to send a delegation of businessmen to explore investment potentials in Egypt in view of the economic and legislative reforms made by the Egyptian government.
The sides also agreed on confronting terrorism and extremism by upgrading the religious discourse, noting that Azhar is the minaret of Islam's moderation in Egypt and abroad.
Mahlab invited his Singaporean counterpart to take part in the inauguration of the New Suez Canal.
