A Mauritanian cleric hailed on Monday the role played by the Egyptian cultural center in Mauritania.
During a ceremony at the center, Sheikh Ould Belmheh, the head of the Mauritanian network for the Holy Quran, said the center played an important role in spreading the cultural relations between the two countries.
He said the network will promote its relations with the center and other cultural organizations in Egypt such as Al Azhar.
The center was opened during the era of late Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1964 with the aim of promoting cultural relations.
