Large format photos on the national flag theme are displayed at the art exhibition running since last Tuesday at Mohamed Ben Ahmed Oran Convention Centre (CCO), to celebrate Algeria’s 50th independence anniversary. Nine photographers from Tlemcen and Oran, including three professionals working in newspapers, propose an original and personal vision of the national flag, synonymous of national independence and sovereignty. Abdelhak Kazi Tani, head of CCO and initiator of the exhibition, said to be pleased with this initiative, which enables displaying plastic works, sculptures and iconographic works, “We offer a space to artists and men of culture in pleasant environment, the CCO should not only host trade shows, special events and colloquiums but also an open space to artistic and cultural creativity,” he said. “This event is a gesture of gratitude to artists and intellectuals who devoted their talent and creativity to the service of revolution, and who still live in unison with our people to fulfil their aspirations and dreams,” the official added. The exhibition, entitled “the colours of my country” will run till July 10, coincides with the National Artist Day.
