The National Center for Documentation & Research (NCDR), part of Ministry for Presidential Affairs, has launched E-content and digital asset management system, a key step towards the integrated national archiving system. Majed Sultan Al Muhairi, head of the project steering committee, said the system aims to provide more accurate methods to classify and archive millions of diverse paper and e-documents, and other audio-visual resources the Center owns. “The project falls within the Center’s relentless efforts to introduce advanced archiving technology in virtue of federal law no (7) of 2008 on the mission of the Center,” he added. “The project is more flexible in achieving integration and link between archives and e-processes, making them easily access to users,” he said. According to him, the project also envisages an archiving simulation software for training purposes. Records keepers from the Center’s Archives and IT Departments have completed a two-week technical training course on analysis of business requirements and project applications.
