The Opera of Algiers, a project whose construction works started in November 2012 in the south-west suburbs of Algiers, will be delivered in July 2015, said Tuesday Culture Ministry in a communiqué.
In an audience granted Tuesday by Culture Minister Nadia Labidi, to a Chinese delegation, led by CEO of the company responsible for the construction of the building, Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG), the two sides underlined the “need to train this institution’s management staff,” said the source.
The Opera of Algiers, estimated at €30 million, is a donation of the People’s Republic of China.
The 1,400-seat opera house is located in Ouled Fayet.
Cultural exchanges and cooperation between the Opera of Algiers and that of Beijing were also broached during this meeting.
