Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russians will pay an official four day visit to Cyprus at the invitation primate Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Nea Justiniana and All Cyprus. The patriarch will arrive on a special flight at Larnaca International Airport on June 8 and will be accompanied by clerics and officials of the Church of Russia. A statement issued by the Archbishopric said that an official welcoming ceremony will be held at the Holy Archbishopric by Archbishop Chrysostomos, members of the church and the people. On Sunday, 10th June, the two religious leaders will officiate a service at Agia Sofia Church in Nicosia. They will also officiate a liturgy on Monday, 11 June at Apostle Varnavas Church in Dasoupoli, on the occasion of the celebration of the founder and protector of the Church of Cyprus, Apostle Varnavas. Patriarch Kirill will meet President of the Republic Demetris Christofias on Monday departing in the afternoon from the island. (ANSAmed).
