
HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari met here last night with HE French Minister of Culture and Communication Fleur Pellerin.
The meeting tackled different aspects of cultural relations between the two countries.
The French Minister expressed admiration for the State of Qatar's attention to culture, and expressed her willingness to develop cultural relations with Qatari private and public cultural institutions.
The meeting also discussed the annual cultural years held by the State of Qatar with a number of countries and their impact on the overall relations, looking forward to the cultural year between the two countries in 2020.
During the meeting, the Qatari and French ministers reviewed ways of cooperation in public libraries' field, as well as cooperation to ensure the success of the Francophonie cultural week, which will take place in Qatar in next November.
HE the Minister invited the French minister to visit the State of Qatar, who welcomed his invitation and promised to visit the country as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to France Sheikh Meshaal bin Hamad Al-Thani.
